brett,
so get together with the rest of your southern chapter and get something organised down there. we just moved from the medford area, there are some really great people in the south! i particularly like PDX west's idea with door prizes and raffles at the meetings. i have contacted our east oregon chapter pres, Alpha Male, and i will be donating a door prize for our next meeting. i am hoping to get the ball rolling and see if we can't manage some raffles, etc for fundraising. you don't have to drive to portland to get involved!

i believe 420 is still the chapter pres in the south but there's an unofficial roseberg chapter, get in contact with Genesis 1:29

That is exactly how it is done! We just started the OGF PDX EAST Chapter, and on a shoestring budget, actually no budget http://www.oregongreenfree.us/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif But we got a couple of raffles going at our first 3 meetings, and now we are able to help out with the OGF Main Building Fund and the Children's Christmas Party and still have chapter funds.

It is tight, but it is really alot of fun. I just went down and got fun stuff and put together simple raffle prizes this time. And a couple of wonderful chapter members, newbies too, donated some awesome white chocolate mint candy roses, which were both beautiful and tasty, and the glassman folks donated a beautiful glasspipe to the cause as well. We have been really lucky and blessed to have very generous members and alot of people who want to give time and talent to the cause up here. Thank you so much to our members, you all rock!
I am sure there are equally talented members in the South who would love to contribute. http://www.oregongreenfree.us/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup_anim.gif

We had alot of fun with our raffle/door prizes. If everyone chips in just a little you can grow a chapter in a few months. http://www.oregongreenfree.us/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif

You folks in the south don't have to reinvent the wheel. Take your ideas from what we have tried and been succesful with up here, and go with it! Get togethers are always more fun with door prizes! Grow your own OGF Chapter today!

Yep! That's what I am saying. It is a lot of work, but it is also fun and satisfying work along the way. Each Chapter can plan and host events too...but someone has to do the work. "Many hands make light work" is a saying my mom used to use. It's true. http://www.oregongreenfree.us/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif

Dubie is the master of putting Cool events together. It is those events and the other special stuff like the Kids Christmas Party that Dubie has been doing for OGF Main for several years that has helped us grow as a community and as an organization.

So, your are invited to have a good time and give back to the OGF community by helping us wrap presents on December 2, at 2pm at the OGF Main Building. http://www.oregongreenfree.us/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup_anim.gif
