Does anyone know if OMMP will be adding new disorders to the list of qualifying conditions? Esp mental disorders such as anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder. I've looked all over and can't find any info.

Nurse Ed Glick is an activist in the movement who is trying to change the qualifications for PTSD and other mental issues.

Wish him luck!! Feel free to google him and get a real earful!!

MMJ lightens the load sometimes and relaxes the mind, body and spirit connection for better quality of life. We all could use some of that....and it's far better for you than the PROZAC and TEQUILA SHOTs that many are using for relief.

Blessings

Supposedly any OMMP patient can petition the ACMM to add qualifying conditions. Just send them a letter. It helps if you can supply a couple of studies to document the fact that mmj is helpful with the condition.

This is true and probably carries more weight than the advice the OMMP takes from the ACMM.

I know there are many people out there whos most qualifying condition is not one of the 8 State accepted, any of the mental conditions for instance. There is suppose to be some information asked for on future applications that will help the program collect that data.

People both on the program and those who would be if their condition were included need to write and asked for their condition to be recognized as a qualifier . . the more the merrier . .

Hello Mama :0)

I found this;
*According to the Oregon Medical Marijuana Act (Section 3 (2)(a)), and OAR 333-008-0020(1)(c), a physician must state in writing that the patient has a qualifying debilitating medical condition and that medical marijuana may mitigate the symptoms or effects of that condition. The OMMP accepts medical records as long as they clearly state the physician is aware that medical marijuana is being used as a treatment and he or she believes the patient may benefit from the use of medical marijuana. The physician must sign and date the relevant portions of medical records you send to the OMMP. The OMMP contacts each physician during the application process to verify the patient is under the physician’s care. A signed and dated “Attending Physician’s Statement,” copies of chart notes or medical records must be current within 3 months of the date of a person’s new or renewal application.

Which of course you probably already read it? I spoke to the doctor when I was getting approved for this about the ADHD and my head injury, which of course is now within the mental category. The doctor sounded positive of these condition being or soon to be, approved for MMJ.
Talk with your doctor and if that statement above is as it reads to me, if one is seeing a physician and the physician agrees MMJ can help that person, then it sounds as if that person can be approved.....

Wish you well...

I think the qualifing condition must have been something other than the ADHD that you injury also causes, making the ADHD secondary. You can look on your physicians statement and see what he marked or wrote.

One of the things that was included in M33 was changing from the current list or the addition of any condition that your physician considered the use of cannabis useful.

At the time this was considered to broad of range and may have cost the loss of some votes.

I sent a letter asking that those in hospice be covered regardless of the specific condition, but never heard back from any of the ACMM members.

I spoke with Grant after the last meeting to see if there was a connection between the State and Hospice. Hospice is a national org but does run at least in my county at the county level.

I was hoping that there might be a way a person once qualified for Hospice could be verified by OMMP and given exempt status from all fees and registration, immediately.

There does not seem to be a way to do that unless we could get it introduced as a question on the application form.

Keep digging and see if there is a DHS/Hospice connection that has a paper trail.

Hello,
The conversation me and the doc had were not in writing about the ADHD (sorry to say). The epilepsy, migraines, arthritis, chronic pain are all choices I had to get onto the program. Paperwork mmmm have no clue at the moment where it is lol!
The doctor sounded real positive about the ADHD though..... :0)
