This is the first time the ACMM has held a meeting in the Southern part of Oregon.

I hope that all cardholders on the South Coast will attend to see what its all about!!

The ACMM was created to help bridge the gap between the patients and the DHS/OMMP and its showing support for the program just to be there.

It's interesting too!!

See ya there friends and supporters!!

I am hearing this meeting went very well under the gavel of the new chairman, Mr. Jim Klahr (Madfingers), and including new ACMM member Alice Ivany (grammychronic). :clapping::thumbsup_anim:

HUGE gratitude to this pair of leading OGF'ers for stepping up to help establish the credibility of this committee, which IMO was severely damaged under the former leadership. I am sure one of the contributing factors to the positive outcome of this meeting was the noticeable absence of the lovely Stormy Ray. Maybe her and her featherbrained cohort will drift away like Dobie Gray. just sayin.:thumbsdown_anim:

The fact that the committee is finally spreading out to meet at varied locations in the state is to be commended, and is just one indication of the dedication to the mandate given the group at it's onset.

Thanx to a pair of super advocates from OGF and other sane and like minded individuals willing to do the job of a true Advisory Committee, our program of sweet releaf in Oregon has a much brighter future.

best represented,

AM :D

This is thanks for all the committee members, and OMMP staff and admin, for
making my first time as chair easy..... After being involved in the LAC and first Advisory Work Group the precursors to the ACMM and being a member
of the ACMM since its installment.... The meeting in Medford, without bias
was smooth and productive. And we now have a vacant seat occupied by
our own SeaBear . .. kudos sir.

Committee members should be exclusively pointed out as presenting the best and most concise reports to date... my vice-chair, Laird, were excellent and
input by all was to the point. MAMA Sandee, luv ya, gave a great educational report and presented much needed idea on education and getting the word out.....

Alice (GrammyChronic) introduced a much need request for more meetings and Lairds advice on the by-laws may expedite this, Admin willing, to 6 meetings a year from the current 4. These later 2 items along with the
growth of the Program show why. When we are dealing with people in assisted care, an issue that is very problematic new policy needs to be set
so that at least the inference that the OMMP agrees that these issues should be made in favor of the patients in facility.

Also the new conditions panel has been set and although it is probably best to wait til the formal minutes are released, the hearing for conformation of this panel or some of its early findings concerning Ed Glicks
presentation is to be on the 28th of August.... please help me other members if my brain cells are failing me.....

I also feel that the adding of the extra meetings making them every other month, will less likely allow for the issues to be forgotten. And that you
the Patients and Cardholders are owed a little more timely commitment from the Program in all matters fitting under the OMMP Preview.....

In Solidarity with All OMMP Cardholders

Jim Klahr ACMM Chair

I TOTALLY MISSED SEEING YOU! Next time I am going to call you the night before!!!! ;)

Also, I want to add that the Outreach Committee report & recommendations were unanimously approved. Our committee will be working over the summer to create a presentation suitable for public consumption regarding the scope and limits of the OMMP.

It was a very good meeting, one of the best as far as committee reports goes.
The Outreach subCommittee with Christine and Mama Sandee, on board, will make a difference in community relations and understanding of the OMMP outside of the community.

I appreciated the report and the positive energy there.

Laird Funk (legislative subcommittee) gave an excellent presentation of any of the straggling bills (re: marijuana) now in the legislature and also stated that we need to start immediately for future legislation actions. You cannot just start a bill a few months before the legislature is in session to get a jump on things.

Todd Dolatto (horticulture subcommittee) gave a report on the problems of using chemicals on plants that are not tested for reactions from combustion during medicating. It is becoming obvious that there are demands that patients/supporters need to make on the PLANT and CHEMICAL industry to provide better research and background for the WAY we use our medicine, whether it is by ingestion, inhaling, or topical.
There will be more on this issue in the future.

The Chair Jim Klahr spoke on the problems being faced by people in Nursing Homes who are having problems with using Cannabis Medicine in those facilities. Often the patients family has to make daily visits to keep thier loved ones comfortable and medicated. Somehow there has to be found a way to have the medicine they need and the privacy and security to dispense to the patients living within these areas.

One interesting note....Chris G. from the DHS/OMMP program (he is the budget person and gave the financial report and statistics as usual at these meetings.) Chris opened the meeting with his report but he had an interesting question that he POSED to the entire ROOM.
"What is causing the sudden infux of patients into the program? Why the 4000 cardholders added over the past few months? What and Why is this happening, if anyone has any ideas?? And will it continue?"

He got several interesting answers.

Among those are the problems with getting pain meds and the closure of two pharmaceutical companies production of Oxy and other pain medications. THAT shortage is affecting those in pain for months now and IMHO is one of the factors.

People are hearing the message. MORE states, are coming on board the MMJ boat, and many are coming through legislation, not just the petition efforts like Oregon. It is definitely snowballing.

The loosening of federal draconian efforts to irradicate and silence our truth is also having an effect on the MMJ movement.
Lots of good reasons for changes, but Eric Holder announcing the end of raids on Patients and Dispensaries who are following local laws, is HUGE.

GREAT Meeting, lots more was said and done, I am only giving a portion of this interesting day....

My hats off to the Members of the ACMM panel, and the DHS/OMMP staff, and I also want everyone in the audience to feel proud for being there.

YOU are the ones who are the most informed in Oregon today about what is going on in the OMMP PROGRAM.
