Just noticed that on the main page there is no longer a list of who is online. I thought that this was a nice feature, particularly when one is in need of a mod. My two pennies.

It is still acessible everyone. At least in the default skin anyway. At the top of your screen on the same tool bar as the Arcade and Calendar it says IPB Portal if you click on that it will be one of the menus on the left and you can click on the words Online Users and see it still. I do agree it is a good feature to have.

It's the way thangs seem to work in the cyber world...or should it be "don't work" in the cyber...
There is al :bigemo_harabe_net-166: ways a glitch somewhere. Not this site in particular, but with the entire technology.
As a nation, we have invested in this binary crap totally and IMO, it could be our downfall. Think about it? What if an impulse bomb was detonated and we lost all computer functions. No ATMs, do you have any cash stashed?
As complex as the worlds' computer infrastructure has become, it seems to me, we are totally dependent on the mouse and the hard drive. Can you spell CRASH? :bigemo_harabe_net-196:
Point is...as wonderful as the technology is, it is still quite primitive. And are we investigating other technologies to safeguard our national infrastructure? You can bet our enemies are researching the ways to bring it down.
I don't know doodly squat about computers and I respect those who do very much. Hell, I am Dependant on their knowledge, just to keep the gears from grinding. :geek:
Here's to those who are working on the OGF site....more power to ya, we appreciate cha, keep up the good work.
Who would have known? Click on the IPB portal...there we is! thanx kristi...ya learn something new every day.
best,
AM :bigemo_harabe_net-171:

I for one still vote the old [on line] on the main page. I enjoyed being able to see where everybody was looking at that minute. Granted all that information is spread thru the site if you want to look but why not have it on the main forum page? If it is being tracked in the IPB portal why not? Plus I like to see how much time big steve spents in the arcade

I found it! Thanks Kristi! A couple of extra clicks lets us see who's online. I never would have known.
I hear ya, AM, about the technology bomb we have created and become dependent upon. I have no money, in the bank or otherwise, so, I am ok in that department when the apocolyps (sp?) hits.
