Hi
Am advised that SB327 will NOT be heard this coming Monday. Bill had been set for a hearing without notice.
If your (or someone you care about) has had their life adversely affected by the fact of a prior conviction for manufacturing
marijuana*, or, if you are interested in helping those who have, or if you think prosecutors and judges should have the discretion to 'treat less harshly' (decriminalize) the convictions of those accused of growing cannabis and want to help work this bill, please contact me directly.
Spent most of the afternoon working on this and things are progressing.
Thanks,
Lee Berger, Portland

PS spent most of the morning to and from and at the sentencing in Stevenson, WA of the CA patient who litigated reciprocity there through the WA Supreme Court. more on this to follow.
*by 'adversely affected by the fact of a prior conviction for manufacturing marijuana' I mean being denied housing, employment, the ability to be bonded or to admitted to a profession or other similar adverse effect.

Hi all-
Sb 327, (allowing for treatment of maufacturing marijuana as misdemeanor) is scheduled for hearing by the Senate Judiciary Committee as noted below in bold. I would encourage all who are able to attend this hearing and support this bill. Lee has done a lot of work on this and it is a badly needed change.
Sb 423 (non-discrimination against mmj worker) has not yet been assigned to committee.
All for now. Laird
